Overall Campground Rating: very good.
What stood out? Wooded private sites.
Owners and Staff: The rangers were friendly and helpful.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Not much for landscaping. It is afterall a state park. Lots of trees and natural outcroppings.
Overall Site Quality: very good
Good/Bad sites: All sites are nice and private. You have a short driveway that leads to to your site. There are trees between each site. The sites in Dunn's Point campground near the water are sites 213 - 224. A lot of these are tent sites. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, Campsite Descriptions: wooded, private, picnic table, fire ring, None of the sites appear to be truly pull-thru. They are gravel bottom.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? no. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: There are plenty of vaulted toilets in each campground that were kept clean. There is a new comfort station built just a year ago. It is a building of 8 large bathrooms not separated by gender. Each bathroom has an exterior door that locks, of course. Each bathroom has a sink, toilet and handicapped size shower. 2 of the 8 bathrooms have baby changing stations. The comfort station is situated between the 2 campgrounds in the park along a road with a 30MPH speed limit. We would load everyone in the car and drive to the comfort station for showers. You definately don't want to let your kids walk along this road plus it is a bit of a hike. The bathrooms were cleaned daily.
Activities and Amenities
lake, swimming, fishing, boating, docks or moorings, pets allowed, dumping station, security gate.
What is nearby? The nearest town with restaurants and stores is 8 miles away. In town there are seaplane rides and excursions to view moose.
Last comments: With the exception of the comfort station being so far away I really enjoyed the campground and will most likely camp here again.
