Overall Campground Rating: very good.

What stood out? It's fairly clean fenced in parking lot with 50 amp electric service and good water pressure

Owners and Staff: On site security both helpful and friendly

Camp landscaping and surroundings: No landscaping, but waterfront marina is part of park. Excellent views of Statue of Liberty and New York City skyline

Overall Site Quality: fair-average

Good sites: All back ins, some longer than others Bad sites:

Campsite hookups: electric, water, Dump Station Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, picnic table, Big rig friendly, but sites offer no privacy whatsover, it's a parking lot

Cell Phone Service: Verizon wireless is fine

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: No seasonals

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Pass code to access bathrooms

Activities and Amenities

ocean, boating, docks or moorings, pets allowed, dumping station, security gate. Night club on property as noted on website.

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, New York City is a quick ferry ride (right out of campground) away, PATH subway is a five minute walk, again quick access to NYC

Last comments: A perfect place to park the rv to tour New York City. Easy highway access, safe and secure parking lot. Remember, it's a parking lot,not a campground.

  1. This sounds interesting. I think it would be so cool to see the Statue of Liberty so close by. It sounds like it is what it is, as long as you know that beforehand. Just a place to park it for sight-seeing

  2. I agree with everything the reviewer said, but want to mention one thing to campers considering this campground.  Access is on congested city streets and can be challenging unless you are very comfortable driving an RV in difficult situations.  This is especially true with a large trailer or a motorhome towing a car.  I had my route all planned out for the morning of departure, went 3 blocks and was detoured way off my intended route and had to find my way back.  You can’t beat the location for easy public transportation to the city, but be prepared to deal with potential traffic problems on the way in and out, avoid rush hour and have your maps handy in case you get detoured.
