Approx Dates of Stay: August 1-4th. Overall Campground Rating: very good. What stood out? Beautiful views from the beach, boat harbor, friendly people. Owners and Staff: Very helpful, nice, courteous. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Beautiful tree coverings, good facilities and playgrounds.
Overall Site Quality: very good. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, sewer. Campsite Descriptions: wooded, semi-private, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, highway noise. The camp sites are as a previous reviewer stated somewhat close. I have been coming to this campground for over 30 years so I'm a bit biased. I am not a seasonal camper, however I go here every year. In the beginning there were few seasonal campsites, but this is mainly a seasonal camper campground. Some sites are near the entrance which is on a major highway, so no amount of trees will suppress this. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, too many seasonal sites. This is mainly a seasonal campground with many regulars. Being a camper there for 30 years, I know most of the campers here - but most are friendly, courteous and kind.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: There are 4 sets of showers/bathrooms. These are usually available...as many seasonal campers here use their own facilities. Activities and Amenities: lake, swimming, fishing, boating, docks or moorings, recreation hall, video games, pool table, bingo, tv or movies, playground, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, pets allowed, laundry room. This is perfect for the kids...a camp store with popcorn, t-shirts, video games. There are 2 recreational facitilies...one with games and pool table the other newer facility which offers bingo, etc. for the adults. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, nature trails. Bear mountain is right near by, as well as Naples which has many things for kids and adults, restaurants, an arcade, boat rentals, etc. Last comments: I have camped in many places. Lakeside Pines offers 2 of the most wonderful lake beaches I have ever seen. Offering a night sky view and sunsets that are out of this world. If you are swinging by for a few nights you will NOT get a premium site, nor will you get the views...but the views and the beach are just a walk away. The seasonal sites can be loud...however, most respect the quiet hours. Also, the tall pine trees, friendly people and wonderful location negate anything negative about this place.
