Dalia gave us this review on 07/23/08. Dates of Stay: 07/19/2008. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Pop-up Trailer
Overall Campground Rating: excellent.
What stood out? The good thing that really stood out for us was the well maintained sites. There were rocks in place around the site. We were able to easily park the pop up. The only bad thing that stood out was the very low pressure water in the bathhouse by the sites.
Owners and Staff: Most of the staff was very friendly.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Our family thought that the paddleboat ride on the lake was very enjoyable. The surroundings were very pleasant since all the sites were nicely spread apart.
Overall Site Quality: excellent
Good sites: I was at the Brotherhood Circle Area. It is mainly a seasonal site area. It was close by to the bath house. It was a nice quiet area. Bad sites: We traveled thru the campground to check out the other sites and we did not see any sites that we thought would be bad for us.
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable, wifi Phone Service Campsite Descriptions: wooded, semi-private, large and spacious, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area.
Cell Phone Service: Surprisingly TMOBILE was accessible in this area. I was at Colonial Woods during the 4th of July weekend and I had no cell phone service.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly; In 10 years, I would actually consider purchasing a park model home in this area. They are pretty affordable and the area makes it perfect for a second home.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: The bathrooms were very up to date, semi modern. The only complaint is that the showers have very low water pressure.
Activities and Amenities
pool, lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, recreation hall, video games, pool table, live entertainment, bingo, tv or movies, playground, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, security gate. The Arcade room was pretty modern with up to date games, pool table, and table tennis. They have a very small miniture golf area. There is also a shuffle board area. The Entertainment Hall is very sizable. I missed BINGO on Friday and Saturday was a Blue Grass Band (Boring) While I was there, I did not see any kids activities. They have two playgrounds, both are very nice for 12 and under. The Campstore was very touristy but well stocked with the must have items. The pool was outstanding. A perfect two sided kiddie pool for ages 8 and under. Also a semi indoor pool, hot tub, and a pretty sizable outdoor pool. Enough seats for sunbathing, picnicking, and lounging.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, amusements, I stopped by Shady Maple. I was very content with the Grocery/supermarket area as well as the very nice buffet area.
Last comments: I hightly recommend you visit this campground. It is a bit expensive ($55.00 per night) but I thought it was worth every penny.

we enjoyed this campground as well. We visited July fourth week. It was in a great location, Philadelphia and Hershey Park are about one hour away. Also, it is right in the heart of Lancaster county-great if you want to learn about the Amish.
