kampersville lake dunmore (Campground Review)

Posted on June 26, 2007 - Vermont, Central Vermont

Vermont -

prento gave us this review on 06/26/07. Dates of Stay: 7/06. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Motor Home - Size of Camping Unit: 28

Overall Campground Rating: very good.

What stood out? I have to agree with another review - smokers are an issue here. We also had a group of people who rented a cottage near us. They were very rude and the two dogs they had were often let loose and barked continuously. Although we complained several times, nothing was ever done. We also have a dog, but she is never let loose and is not a barker, so we love dogs.

Owners and Staff: Staff seemed to be helpful and kind but again, did nothing about the group in the cottage. This will be a BIG factor regarding our return to this campground.

Overall Site Quality: fair-average

Good sites: some Bad sites: some

Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer, cable, Campsite Descriptions: somewhat small, The site we had was okay, but narrow

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: cluttered, snobby seasonal campers.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no.

Activities and Amenities

pool, lake, swimming, boating, boat rentals, recreation hall, bingo, camp store, ice cream, The pool area is wonderful, since we had such noisy neighbors, we used it alot!

Last comments: We will think twice before we return

  1. While I can sympathize with you regarding the noisy neighbors (I love dogs, but hate when they are constantly barking), your review is puzzling.

First you state that your overall rating is “very good” and you would return, but the rest of the review is negative and you say that you would have to think about a return visit.

Again, I am sorry you had such a terrible time.

  2. prento said. Staff seem to be helpful and kind but again, Did nothing about the group in the cottage.

The fact that the staff/owners being unresponsive doesn’t surprise me. In 02 we along with two other out of state RV’ers (who we didn’t know ) left on a saturday morning because of abusive and drunk campers from previous night. We preaded to the owners that saturday morning (along with the other out of state Rv’er and a seasonal on the other side of us ) about what happened the previous night and they did nothing about removing the campers in question. So with that being said everyone ended up pulling out saturday morning and left. I don’t like posting something this negative but I’m simply stating what had happened to us.I truly hope things have changed since 02 but it’s my opinion that the owners of this campground will tolerate just about anything.
