Web site: Jacobs Brook Campround

Orford, NH - 603-353-9210

Cheryl Ann gave us this review on 09/09/09. Dates of Stay: 06/19 to 21, 07/31 to 08/02 and Labor Day Weekend. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Pop-up Trailer

Overall Campground Rating: excellent.

What stood out? Quiet each time we were there. In August the brook could be heard throughout the CG because of the rainy summer we had.

Owners and Staff: Pen - perfect! Very accomodating. We needed an extension for electricity, no problem.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: Tons of flowers, grass is always cut. Always new plantings when we return year after year. They are always improving this CG.

Overall Site Quality: excellent

Good sites: Just tell Pen what you're looking for and she'll accomodate you. Sites 46 to 50 would be great for a group even though they do have a group area. I'm not going to tell you our favorite sites because we want them. Nice pull throughs which she added crushed stones to this year. Check out their interactive campsite tour. Bad sites:

Campsite hookups: electric, water, cable, wifi Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, semi-private, large and spacious, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area.

Cell Phone Service: N/A Very good internet service.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, They invited us to their yankee swap on Labor Day weekend. They're a blast!

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Always clean. Pen is always checking on them during the day.

Activities and Amenities

pool, river, swimming, playground, pets allowed, dumping station; Immaculate pool. Swings, volley ball net, basketball, horseshoes.

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, ocean or lake, Visit Treasure Island - inquire with Pen about it.

Last comments: NH's best kept secret. If you want to relax, come here. If you want planned activities go elsewhere. We brings books and games to keep ourselves amused.
