Cheryl Ann gave us this review on 07/19/06. Dates of Stay: 07/14 - 16. Will You Return? Undecided. What did you camp in? Pop-up Trailer

Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.

What stood out? Quietness - hence the name of the campground - idle. You want peace and quiet come here. You want a rustic campground, come here. No frills. They patrol the area after quiet time. No highway noise. It's in the middle of nowhere.

Owners and Staff: Very friendly and helpful. Owner made a point to visit with us before we left on Sunday to check to see how our time was. Not too many campgrounds do that.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: The roads within the campground were a little hard to drive around on. (Possibly the effects of all the rain storms that we've been having this season.)

Overall Site Quality: fair-average

Good sites: 1 thru 5, 7, 17, 18, 19 & 22 Bad sites: 5a (should not be classified as a site) We think it was just added to make an extra site. #35 & #36 would probably be very muddy during a rain storm. Very dark sites.

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, No electric or water at our site (#5). We had to get it from our friends site. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, somewhat small, close to the road, picnic table, fire ring, Very uneven ground. Most sites were sloped and not flat. No privacy from your neighbors.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers,

Clean restrooms and showers? no. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? no. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: I don't think they were cleaned while we were there. New shower stalls.

Activities and Amenities

recreation hall, playground, theme weekends, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, dumping station, Well stocked store. Playground is geared to tiny tots. Our 9 yr old wasn't impressed with it. Separate volley ball and horse shoe pit areas.

What is nearby? ocean or lake, They have two beach areas that you can go to. We opted for the town lake and not Highland Lake. This surpasses a NH state park for swimming. Bathroom facilities were immaculate. Basketball court. Volley ball area. Covered picnic tables with BBQ.

Last comments: Young couple's second year at this campground. There's a lot of work that has to be done. They are slowly cleaning it up. They remodeled the store first and hopefully the campground is next. We would probably return in about two years.
