Approx Dates of Stay: 7. Overall Campground Rating: horrible. What stood out? The campground is in a beautiful location, right on the ocean and golf course at the end of Cape Cod. Owners and Staff: Horrifyingly rude. We had reservations for 2 sites well in advance in August. I was in a wedding on a Saturday, so my husband and kids went up ahead of me to set up our sites. I was going to arrive later in the day. My husband towed our pop-up camper with his truck camper. Upon arrival, Mr. Horton informed him and our 3 small children that they would not be allowed to bring the pop-up camper in. They were also not allowed to park it in the parking lot outside the campground. He stated that since I was not there yet, the pop-up was not allowed. Remember, we had 2 sites reserved in our name. We live 4 hours away, and had no where to leave the camper. Upon hearing this news, I phoned Mr. Horton to question this ridiculous rule. He did not care about the 3 children that had no where to go at this point. He didnt care about the drive or our vacation. Believe it or not, my husband and three kids had to drive the four hours home. They wasted the entire day. We made reservations at another campsite up the road and returned to the cape the next day. On a previous visit, with just my husband and I, we were assigned a site right next to the gate. Knowing we would be disturbed, and noting numerous open sites, we requested to move. Mr. Horton's reply was that we would have to cancel, pay a cancellation fee and then re-register for another site (if he decided to have one). He humiliated several adults in registration line, even coming out of his booth to line them up correctly. The man is insidious. He is an embarrassment to the tranquility of Cape Cod and should be driven out of business by lack of interest in his horrible regime. Compare him to the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld, he is an exact copy. Not to be dealt with, he will no doubt ruin your vacation. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Very nice.
Overall Site Quality: very good. Campsite hookups: electric, water
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: The relatively nice upkeep is not worth your time. Do not support this type of abusive behavior. Definitely dont subject children to this.
Last comments: Stay far away and tell your friends. Mr. Horton is a poor example of what camping is about.
