Overall Campground Rating: horrible.

What stood out? Owner/Manager's Customer Service

Owners and Staff: Owner/Manager was extremely unwilling to work with us when we had originally booked a site for a pop - up. We had purchased a 31 foot travel trailer 8-10 days prior to our previously booked/paid for (paid IN FULL) camping site. When I called her 8 days prior to my reservation (note on a holiday weekend)-she informed me that the campground was full. While I understand this was a holiday weekend, I tried EVERY different scenerio from a full refund, to a pre-paid to another weekend of camping, both this year AND next - to no evail. She did refund ONE site (we had two originally booked) as she "filled one of the two sites". She was totally unwilling to work with me as a customer. I had several phone conversations with her on this subject and except for the very last phone conversation, I was extremely patient and nice and willing to try anything that would work. On our last conversation, when I told her that I am a Manager in the customer service industry, she got quiet and hesitant and then accused ME of having an attitude. This went on and on and we went around in circles, getting nowhere, at which point, I just said I'd be listing her campground with negative feedback.

Last comments: Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to cancel my reservation at this campground as I had purchased a bigger unit prior to my reservation. I tried working with her to come to some kind of resolution that would benefit both her and myself. I could understand if I were a No Call, No Show, OR if I have even 24 hours notice, but I gave her 8 days prior notice of my change!! I come from a customer service background and in our business, we try our hardest to make the customer happy and I know for a fact that rules can be bent, I worked my hardest to try to make things work out for both parties, but she refused to work with me and as I stated to her, I gave her 8 days notice of my change in size of camper - she was absolutely not willing to work with me as a customer and therefore, I will not camp at this campground nor will I ever recommend it!

  1. Their return policy asks for 15 days notice (stated clearly on their web site) and they were booked for the holiday weekend, so they couldn’t find you a new site. It really isn’t fair to them to expect them to find a replacement for your cancellation only 8 days before the holiday, but it sounds like they were trying to work with you because they gave you a refund for one of your sites…

  2. I agree with TC.  The cg policy is clearly stated on their website.  Not trying to be combative here but I don’t see how buying a bigger rv is a circumstance beyond your control.  Anyways, good luck with your new trailer!
