This is our favorite cg. We were there the same week luv2camp was. Everything stated in the review is correct. Things to be aware of though. From reading reviews and posts at That’s Camping over the years IMHO this is not the cg for many who frequent this site.
1. Dry camping only.
2. No TTs, or 5’ers. Many sites are suitable for tents only.
3. Bathroom quality ranges from good to just plain wrong. You learn pretty quickly when to go and which ones to avoid.
4. Mosquitos can be ferocious.
5. Very few organized activities.
6. Some sites are under water in heavy rains. Much of Dune Way and Iris Downs was flooded the week we were there.
7. Nearest real grocery store is 14 miles away.
That being said my family always looks forward to our week at HI and is sad to leave.

We used to go every year and loved it. Then they stopped allowing dogs, that was the end for us. Plus it was infested with ticks.
