Approx Dates of Stay: 07/18-07/19. Overall Campground Rating: excellent. What stood out? There's nothing not to like. Great location, well cared for CG with great views of Lafayette Mtn. Owners and Staff: Very friendly. If its your first visit there's a good chance you'll be given a tour of the cg by the owner in a golfcart. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Large field area for soccer/baseball. The care and effort the owners and staff give to maintain their campground is apparent throughout the cg.
Overall Site Quality: very good. Good/Bad site #'s: SIte ranges from average to excellent. I didnt like the seasonal sites in the field. Lots of nice sites near the river. We had site # 12 and were very satisfied. Limited number of sites with water/electric hookups. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, semi-private, large and spacious, group camping area. There was one site I thought was ideal (either 25 or 26). That was until we walked the cg one night and found the site has a large commercial light across the road. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers,
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Restrooms were always clean. The main bath house has stenciled walls! Got a kick out of that!
Activities and Amenities: river, swimming, fishing, bingo, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. Well stocked store. Tons of activities to keep the kids busy. Adequate playground. Kids ceramics for a small fee. Beach volleyball, soccer, candy bar bingo, hayless hayrides, campfires in the common area to name just a few of the activities offered. What is nearby? restaurants, retail stores, ocean or lake, nature trails. Great location for bike rides or hikes in the WMNF. Last comments: The owners take camping seriously. Quiet hours are strickly enforced. You can hear traffic on rt93 at night. Probably not the case on sites near the river. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fransted and plan to return next year. This CG ia a winner!
