David Cusenza gave us this review on 07/17/08. Dates of Stay: 6/22/2008. Will You Return? No. What did you camp in? Tent - Size of Camping Unit:
Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.
What stood out? Upon arrival camp site looked fine.
Owners and Staff: Tried to contact the owner multiple times but always out or too busy to be bothered with my concerns.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Overall the campground looks fine with nice trees and swimming areas.
Overall Site Quality: terrible
Good sites: Bad sites: T131, flooded out during evening rain. Our tents were 4" deep in water. Could find no help that evening so my wife and kids all had to sleep in the car that night in our wet clothes. Tried to get some kind of response from the owner and he is always unavailable to talk. I don't blame him for the weather but to be flooded out of our site, sleep in our car, and then not to be able to take a shower in the morning I do feel justified in asking for a refund. But to all my requests I am ignored.
Campsite hookups: electric, water, Hooks fine Campsite Descriptions: wooded, sandy bottom, picnic table, Poorly graded. During evening rain it turned into a 4" deep lake nearly 100 feet in diameter with nowhere to go. Had to rescue my kids in the night, all of their gear was under water in the tents. Ipods and water don't go well together. Slept the 4 of us, wet, in the car. Not fun. Called night security and all he could say was there was nothing he could do, which was true. Security told me he would contact the owner, David Carreau, and let him know we should be refunded our stay. I have to assume Mr. Carreau has refused all contact as I tried many times to talk with him the next day, and many times since. He will not answer a phone or email from me. So far I have not even received the courtesy of a response.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: cluttered, Many of the permanent sites are not kept up very well and some should be torn down.
Clean restrooms and showers? no. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Tried all 4 showers, mens and womans, in bath house #10. None would function and lost $1.00 in quarters. Ask other campers in the area and they said they lost their quarters too.
Activities and Amenities
Didn't partake so can't say.
Last comments: I'm 49 and I can honestly say it was the worst night, and worst treatment I have ever received in all my years of camping. I don't want to make trouble but someone should be told. I don't want another camper to go through a night like that again.
