That's Camping review on 07/08/04.

Approx Dates of Stay: Fourth of July weekend 2004. Overall Campground Rating: very good. What stood out? Very nicely landscaped. Quiet and peaceful. Not on the ocean, but close to York Beach and Ogunquit. This is not the place to go if you want a bustling busy camp-out. Owners and Staff: Very nice and cheery. Friendly. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Nicely maintained grassy area in the front. Flowers, large rocks, trees. A clean, peaceful and natural atmosphere.

Overall Site Quality: fair/average. Good/Bad site #'s: The tenting sites are somewhat smaller. The E/W sites at the front area are a bit larger and grassy. We have a couple "favorite sites" that we like, but others are a bit smaller for our 24ft trailer, but better sized for popups or tents. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water; Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, somewhat small, close to the road, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, highway noise; If you can't sleep hearing Rt 1 hwy noise, then this might not be for you. We keep a fan going to block out external noises. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, Small areas of seasonal campers.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Clean but they need a little bit of updating work. 25 cents for shower.

Activities and Amenities: New pool, small ponds, swimming, playground, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, pets allowed, dumping station, security gate. Pool is lovely. Small camp store with AM Green Mountain coffee for $1.35. Ponds are not for fishing or swimming. Small playground. This might not be the campground for you if you need planned activities for your children. If you would like to experience a quiet, peaceful, well-mannered camping trip, then you might enjoy Dixon's, I know we do. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. Last comments: We will return. It is a good place to be close to the ocean and activities.
