Approx Dates of Stay: 7/13/02-7/20/02. Overall Campground Rating: very good. What stood out? A very family atmosphere - a safe place for children to have a lot of fun. It was very quiet and peaceful surrounded by friendly and pleasant people. The play area for the children was great (modern) and a wonderful, very clean pool area. The rec area needs to be updated but then again we spent little time there. Owners and Staff: EXCELLENT - very friendly. They also were very useful in obtaining info on area attractions or directions to the Wal-Mart. This was a very nice feeling knowing they were willing to help us out. Every evening Joe would drive around the campground on the golf cart and stop by for a small chat. This was nice - we looked forward to it each evening. And Barb was so open to having a friendly conversation about anything. These people belong in this type of business. Camp landscaping and surroundings: The signs as we entered are wonderful - a pleasant welcoming feeling.
Overall Site Quality: excellent. Good/Bad site #'s: site 32 & 34 this is great for a group of people going camping together, as the sites are open. Another plus we only realized when we arrived, was grills on each site. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer. Campsite Descriptions: wooded, semi-private, large and spacious, close to the road, pine needle bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. I highly recommend this campground to others wanting to enjoy the northern parts of NH. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. metered showers. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: The major downfall to our stay is the bathroom situation - there's no set schedule for the cleaning of restrooms. It's a different time each day. A bathroom remains open at the pool area but only has 2 showers. I think a set schedule needs to be made along with the addition of other restrooms. At times it was a rush for the children to make it to the restroom from our site.
Activities and Amenities: pool, lake, swimming, fishing, boat rentals, recreation hall, pool table, playground, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station. Well stocked camp store. Pool - very clean. Rec hall - needs updating. Equipment is older. ice cream social - cheap and fun for the children. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails, plenty to do for all ages. Last comments: Thank You to Barb & Joe for the wonderful atmosphere to spend a week camping,
