Jenny gave us this review on 02/06/06. Approx Dates of Stay: August 2005. What did you camp in? Tent

Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.

What stood out? The campground is rather small, and unless you're at sites far from the road, you can hear traffic. Many sites were fairly private, but they didn't seem especially nice. There are a few "carry-in" sites on the river that make a stay here worthwhile. The general store was great. Also, this campground caters almost entirely to TENT campers, which was nice.

Owners and Staff: I spoke with someone on the phone in the winter of 2005, and he was VERY helpful. When we arrived, though, we weren't very happy with the amiability of the staff.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: The campground is on the SACO river, which was fun to explore with our kids, but it is also off of a pretty major road, and some traffic can be heard. It's very close to North Conway attractions, and at the edge of the White Mountains National Park. There are some very beautiful waterfalls really close by, some very easy to reach even with very small children -- we had a great time on our "hikes".

Overall Site Quality: fair-average

Good/Bad sites: GREAT sites (worth the stay -- otherwise I wouldn't recommend this campground over any other) are: 54-56. We stayed in 55, and it's by far the best site in the campground. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, water, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, close to the road, picnic table, fire ring

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: From our sites, the "restrooms" were portable toilets. Not so nice. There was a main shower facility, though, with nice toilets, showers, etc.

Activities and Amenities

river, camp store, dumping station,

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, amusements, nature trails.
