Overall Campground Rating: excellent.

What stood out? This campsite gives visitors all of the options, from a site for campers with hook-ups to walk-in sites with no hook-ups for tent campers. All of the sites are close to the river for easy fishing.

Owners and Staff: The only one whom you'll ever speak to there is Heidi, and she's great. She runs a small general store for necessities, and is always willing to give helpful suggestions of things to do and places to go. Each night's fee also gets you a bundle of seasoned firewood, with an additional bundle for each paid extra person.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: This campground is located in the Catskills, right by the Willowemoc River. There are sites for campers as well as ones for tents. We stayed in the "super secluded island sites", which were great. We could hardly make out any of our neighbors, and could not see a single car, electric light, or road. There's also a small farm on the ground with a few animals.

Overall Site Quality: excellent

Good sites: Island 1 Bad sites:

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, Dial-up connection for Internet offered at office Campsite Descriptions: wooded, private, large and spacious, fire ring, If you're staying on the island, both sites are good. #2 is more secluded, but #1 is slightly bigger. You need to hike/walk into the island sites across a small creek, so it takes a few trips from the parking area to the site to haul gear.

Cell Phone Service: There is no cell phone service in or around the campsite (Verizon). You may get an analog signal in some areas, but you can't depend on it.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: friendly campers,

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: From the island sites, the nearest outhouse is by the parking area, with just a pit toilet. A short walk away are showers, sinks, and toilets with running hot water.

Activities and Amenities

river, fishing, camp store, security gate. Great fishing on the creek. Farm animals are fun to feed. The campstore has sufficient necessities. The free firewood is a great service.

What is nearby? nature trails. Great hiking and fly fishing in the area.

Last comments: This is a great campsite for tent campers in that they are not surrounded by RVs and a lot of noise.
