This campground is located on Conway Lake. The sites are big & wooded. Plenty of shade. We've been going there for a few years now (a week or so at a time) and have never had a bad trip. This place is great for kids too. Located right on the water, they have their own shallow, sandy beach & swim dock. They also have boat docks & ramp so bring your boat. The fishing is excellent, lots of rainbow & bass.
The lake itself is clean & crystal clear. Great for swimming/boating etc. Though not a very well-known area (one of it's good points) the campground is well kept, and the people that run it are friendly, willing and able. We've been fortunate to get our favorite site every time we've been. (I'm not telling you which one though, 'cause you might grab it).
Another reason this spot is great for kids is the location in the White Mountains. Not far (20 minutes or so) is Story Land. Sort of a mini-Disney World. Many other attractions are nearby too. Kancamagus Highway (very scenic) will take you along the Swift River where there a few good places to stop and take a dip on a hot day. We also enjoy following the Kancamagus highway to the end, where you can spend a day at Loon Mountain. There you can take a gondola ride to the top and explore their 'polar caves'. There's also all kind of activities going on there throughout the day. Anyway, in a nutshell...two thumbs up!
