Approx Dates of Stay: August, 2004 for 5 nights. Overall Campground Rating: very good. What stood out? This is a delightful campground. A quiet lovely place to stay. Owners and Staff: Very nice, friendly. Made you feel very welcome there! Camp landscaping and surroundings: Absolutely gorgeous views. Grassy flowing hills and tidal river in the background. Beautiful flower beds scattered in campground.

Overall Site Quality: very good. Good/Bad site #'s: Most sites are open, with scattered large trees. Sites are very spacious. A few of our favorites are #14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 8, 26, RB, 3D, 2D. There were a couple of smaller/tenting sites (nos 2,3,4) with very good privacy. The sites right by the river (10A, 10B, 10C) were without elec/water but were very nice. Long walk to bathhouse though. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, large and spacious, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, Some sites had magnificent views. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, I am pretty sure there were "regular" seasonal campers, but their sites were not perminant like other campgrounds, so it was hard to tell the transient from the seasonal. Everyone was very nice though.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? no. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: very long walk to the one bathhouse from a few sites, especially the riverfront sites.

Activities and Amenities: pool, river, swimming, boat rentals, docks or moorings, recreation hall, ice cream, pets allowed, dumping station, Salt-water pool, brrr, very cool water. Access to tidal river. Boat ramp along with boat dock. Kayak rentals. Very small rec hall. A few books, games and pingpong tables. A quiet peaceful campground. oh except for the small airport nearby. Especially on Saturday, the planes flying overhead were a bit un-nerving; there was no airport noise at night or early AM. Very small campstore, but there were two grocery stores very close on Rt 1. No laundry room, but there was a very clean laundrymat very close. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, Portland closeby. A drive to Camden and Belfast is a great day trip! Last comments: We loved it here. I was very happy to find this campground. Quiet and peaceful. Just heaven!
