Dawn Brady gave us this review on 07/01/08. Dates of Stay: 2006, 2007, 2008. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Pop-up Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: 19'
Overall Campground Rating: excellent.
What stood out? It is a very peaceful campground and to camp there is what camping is all about. How great to sit by the lake and see ducks and Eagles flying overhead, and moose, never saw soo many and was able to get close up shots.
Owners and Staff: Staff is nice and we've gotten to know them since we return every year.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: It is surrounded by Moosehead Lake which is a huge lake. Great kayaking. Saw a moose jump in the water and swim from our kayaks. We have pictures of an Eagle also. It is real wilderness camping and soo peaceful. When you are there you feel like you are in Alaska.
Overall Site Quality: excellent
Good sites: All the sites are nice. Bad sites:
Campsite hookups: electric, Campsite Descriptions: wooded, large and spacious, picnic table, To enjoy this campground you have to like the outdoors. There is electricity only from 6am-10am & 6pm-10pm on certain sites. The surrounding sites and beauty is well worth the ride.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers:
Activities and Amenities
lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, docks or moorings, camp store, AM coffee, pets allowed,

I would like to update my first comment sent. We went to Casey’s twice in 2008. The 2nd time was a nightmare. Be careful when walking your dog or even yourself off the beaten path. My dog stepped on an old broken whiskey bottle. She almost didn’t make it to the vet because it was 2 hrs away! We almost lost her. When we returned the owner was cutting trees down right in our site. One of the trees had landed on the picnic table and knocked our personal items on the ground. He could have hit our pop up. The whole weekend was awful! Since this was our 4th year in a row going there I would have thought I would have gotten an email or card of something just asking how our dog was since it was a very serious accident but we got nothing.
