Arthur gave us this review on 10/04/04.

Approx Dates of Stay: August 20 -24 2004. Overall Campground Rating: horrible. What stood out? Unproffesionalism and unfreindlyness greeting from the moment you arrive. Owners and Staff: The most unfreindly, roudest, unprofessional, disrespectful and unhappy person I've ever come accross in my life. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Fair, hard to tell due to some rain. Made everything muddy.

Overall Site Quality: fair-average. Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer, Part time electric, very little water pressure. Campsite Descriptions: wooded, grassy bottom, fire ring

Activities and Amenities: lake, swimming, fishing, boating, camp store, pets allowed, What is nearby? grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, nature trails. Stores and trails approx 30 minuets away. Last comments: For my last comments, I would just like to warn anyone who is thinking about going here. The owner of this campground is clearly an unhappy person who wants to take his anger out on everyone around him. He should not be running a campground. I've been camping with my family for about 10 years and have never met a person like this. I can't even discribe how rotten he is. To give you an example, Me,My wife, My 2 children and a few freinds took a walk at approximatly 10:30pm to the point. A small area at the camp ground on the lake. We wanted to stargaze. When out of the darkness this man starts yelling at us for leaving our camp sites. I won't write the upsenities he used, but I will tell you My 14 year old daughter did'nt need to hear it. We were not drinking, nor were we talking loud. We were literally whispering. He made it clear he dislikes and does not respect children or woman. He told us all to go back to our sites and go to bed. I'm not exagerating about this person. I also found out that the Maine State Police have been called to this campground several times. Moosehead Lake is beautiful and I would recommend anyone to visit. But please, find another campground. If you do choose to go here, I hope you don't have the same experience I did. I read about many peoples experience at Casey's here on this web site. I just wish I had checked this site first. I drove 5 hours to get treated this way and only stayed one night of what was suppose to be a 5 day family vacation. I'd rather drive 5 hours home than give this campground my hard earned money.
