Loudon, NH -
Kathy gave us this review on 06/28/09. Dates of Stay: 5/2009. Will You Return? No. What did you camp in? Motor Home - Size of Camping Unit: 27 feet
What stood out? Lot's of seasonal sites and many friendly seaonal campers. Nice river and small beach area.
Owners and Staff: Very unfriendly and rude staff. They don't seem to be campers and appear to roam about looking for problems to confront the campers with. A very odd vibe.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: There are lots of trees, grass common area seem to be mowed and the roads are dirt. Buildings appear to be in OK condition.(WE didn't go in any)Beach area is small and needed to be raked and cleaned up.
Good sites: any seaonal site ! Bad sites:
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable, Campsite Descriptions: wooded, somewhat small, close to the road, pine needle bottom, picnic table, fire ring, Our site was small and near a crossroad. It was not raked (we did that) nor cleaned from the winter. fire ring(stones)needed to be rebuilt(we did that). Very loud at night.
Cell Phone Service: cell phone worked fine. US Cellular
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, Most seasonal sites were very neat. A few are overly cluttered and decorated!
Comments on restrooms and showers: We did not use the bathrooms as we are self contained.
pool, pond, river, swimming, fishing, recreation hall, live entertainment, bingo, playground, theme weekends, camp store, ice cream, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, security gate.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores,
Last comments: Very strange campground worked who walked into our site in the middle of the day and stuck his hand in the fire ring..he thought we were having a fire when it wasn't allowed...the smoke he saw was from a cigar.A very odd behavior.

Thank you for your obviously accurate description of this campground. After requesting a seasonal site based solely on photo gallery on the web site and the seasonal rates, we were very rudely refused a site due to the size of our dog. Apparently they have a 40lb limit…. which is not at all posted on their web site….we have a St. Bernard who is big…..but not aggressive nor is she ill trained. If you know ANYTHING about Saints…..I need not explain any further. (Edited by That’s Camping admin)

My family and I have been camping at Cascade Campground for 15 years. Since the present owners took over I have seen nothing from them but solid hard work and devotion. They took what was basically a run down operation and made it a beautiful, fun and safe place to relax and enjoy camping and companionship . Every year when we go back it is always better than the year before. Neither myself or anyone in my family or friends has ever experienced anything even remotely rude or unfriendly from any member of the staff. Its not a fancy place, but its clean and fun and very affordable. I just thought that after reading what Kathy and Denise wrote, that it was only fair to voice my opinion.

Joanne is nice to some people and nasty to others. She does take good care of the campground but her people skills could be a lot better. She has lost quite a few seasonals for that reason. Dale is right, the prices are very reasonable and the payment plan for seasonals is very flexible as well. If she is nice count your blessings.

We went down there for the first time, and she moved us from our requested spots down the river which is fine because she said it was to allow us to be a little louder and not bother anyone (we’re all in our early 20’s). We appreciated this though the gesture was nice she herself was beyond rude. It was hard to have a good time when Joann and her staff are driving down every 5 minutes looking for us to be doing something wrong. I do not recommend this site for anyone other than regular campers (another commenter was right she loved the seasonal members and hated us first timers).

I think other posters are right - they are rude. We camp their on race weekends every so often. We are a middle aged non-drinking quiet family. The playground is out-dated and not very safe. We pay over $400 for 4 nights for our family. They do have a pool which is nice. But again they are rude via email, in person and over the phone. Not sure what their problem is…life is too short.

WoW! I really hoped for a good camping experience as we live close & would love to go back. However this place is terrible. Beyond rude, playground was filthy, beach was more like a swamp, water not working part of the stay. It really is not a campground for tenters/families. It is more like a trailer park. Man came on our site twice without saying anyting opened electric box did something & walked away, second time my 5yr old son tried to ask him what he was doing & if we had water he barley looked up. Do not recommend you waste your time & money.
