Carl and Sharon gave us this review on 08/16/05. Approx Dates of Stay: Aug. 12-14.
What stood out? Sites were SMALL. The bathrooms as my wife said, could gag a maggot. Most of the campground was seasonal. In fact some of the sites were so small that you could not open an awning. Many sites (mine included) you could/would not have a campfire for safety reasons. My awning hung over and the camper was only six to seven feet away from the fire pit.
Owners and Staff: Seemd friendly at check in. Never really saw them later. They had a sign at the pool, no unattended children under sixteen, which was not enforced.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Everbody was packed in like sardines. Most sites were wooded. The pool was at one end of the campground. VERY long walk with or without crutches. One potty also a very long walk at the edge of campground.
Good/Bad sites: Good sites were the pull throughs. Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, somewhat small, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, Some people just let thier dogs roam. Was fun cleaning my crutches from some ones dog droppings. To many sites cramped in.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: cluttered, too many seasonal sites.
Clean restrooms and showers? no. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? no. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Filthy the one time my wife went there. She wouldn't go back again to see if they were cleaned.
pool, pond, river, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, recreation hall, bingo, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. Pool was in rough shape. Fiberglass repairs were peeling off. They have a Canoe and fishing there. the water was brown and filthy. I would not eat any fish out of there. They at least had signs warning no wading or swiming except in pool.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, Found a great ice cream place nearby and very nice farm area with roadside stands. The area itself has a lot to do and see.
Last comments: My wife and I see a lot of potential there. They just need to expand the site size and add HP setups. We may go back maybe in off season sometime again, but that would be the only way.

Very unsafe campground. Rules are not enforced. Dogs unleashed. Kids unsupervised. Public displays of affection by adults in the pool as children looked on. Too much late night partying (4 am), loud and rude campers especially seasonals. Rude staff. Would not recommend to my most hated enemy.
