Ashford, CT - 1-800-303-CAMP

Scott Daigle (SBNK) gave us this review on 06/07/05. Approx Dates of Stay: Memorial day weekend.

Overall Campground Rating: very good.

What stood out? Great People, Seasonals,Weekenders and Staff! the bad part was the mud!

Owners and Staff: Verry Nice, made you feel very welcome.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: Dirt roads, very woodsy, a Real campground, not a resort for super class A's

Overall Site Quality: very good

Good/Bad sites: all good Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, semi-private, somewhat small, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. With all the rain this spring, it made for lots of mud. sites around the pond need better boundry markers, like small trees.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, in their own area. kept to themselfs. some of their sites were very VERY nice.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: the showers and restroom was a large trailer.

Activities and Amenities

pool, pond, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, video games, pool table, live entertainment, bingo, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, Not a very well stocked store, mostly toys. pool needed to be cleaned, the kids prefered the pond even though the water was cold.

What is nearby? nature trails. we didn't stray far from the campground.

Last comments: We really liked this place, It really feels like a "campground" not a high end snobby place. they just installed the WIFI and let us have the pass for free. We will be going back next year.
