Approx Dates of Stay: 7/16/04 - 7/18/04. Overall Campground Rating: fair-average. What stood out? Huge 1400 site RV Park, directly on Lake Ontario. Mostly permanant parked RV's and park models, at least 750 seasonals. Owners and Staff: Check in staff, resturant, and store staff all excellent. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Really packed in, paved roads, farm and seafood stand on premisis. Lots of mature trees, long sandy/rocky beach complete with seagulls.
Overall Site Quality: fair-average. Good/Bad site #'s: Pull thrus immediatley after check in area are kind of tight. Back in's looked better. Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer, cable, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, Many had concrete pads Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, cluttered, too many seasonal sites. It's all here, from immaculate landscaped sites to outright dumps. Trailers and Park models some new, some probably from the 1960's. Many large outdoor refrigerators, some custom striped to match the RV, seem to be of great importance to their owners.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes.
Activities and Amenities: pool, lake, swimming, fishing, boating, recreation hall, video games, pool table, live entertainment, bingo, playground, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. Three pools, huge rec hall, large open courtyard area for entertainment. Great camp road bike riding, hard to see whole campground. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, Easy access to I-81, Syracuse is about 35 minutes away. Last comments: Brennan is worth a visit, kids will have fun at the large arcade, the funky basketball courts, and the pool complex. Lake Ontario is simply awesome.
