Kyle gave us this review on 07/05/08. Dates of Stay: 5/28/08-6/05/08. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Travel Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: 16
Overall Campground Rating: excellent.
What stood out? Many Activities. Clean. Well Kept.
Owners and Staff: Very friendly. Welcoming. Good sense of humor. Of course there are a few workers, such as the maintainance man who is grumpy.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Built around a brook, and the Androscroggin Lake. Many sites on the water...which have a great view.
Overall Site Quality: excellent
Good sites: Almost any site. Bad sites: A few here and there.
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Water is leaky, but is still high pressure even during high use times..aka July 4th week. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, semi-private, large and spacious, close to the road, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, There are hundreds of sites. I'm almost positive that they could never be completely filled. Also, as soon as someone checks out, the sites are cleaned up and tended to, so you are always sure to check into a well-kept site. Almost any of the sites are wooded. There are a few that are wide open. There are some that are right next to the swimming area, and some with their own. Some are next to a flowing brook. And some are out in the woods alone. There are even some pull through sites here. There is a good mix of types.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, People were nice. I didnt spend too much time talking to really anyone, but the time i spent walking around, every one waved, or said hi. All the seasonal sites seemed clean and orderly.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: There are not many "Comfort Stations" around the sites, but they are conveniently placed to be not that far of a walk from anywhere.
Activities and Amenities
pool, lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, docks or moorings, recreation hall, video games, pool table, live entertainment, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. The camp store has almost everything you would need.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, ocean or lake, nature trails. Not much going on. Its Maine, what do you expect...
Last comments: Pulling a trailer through the campground is a bit tricky, but its well worth it. Even during the July 4th week, it was relatively quiet. There were a few drunks, but the staff kindly took care of them. Overall, its a great campground
