That's Camping's review from 09/06/06. Dates of Stay: Drive Thru Observation. Will You Return? Yes.
Overall Campground Rating: very good.
What stood out? Since this was just a quick drive-through, we didn't really get to notice everything. It is a pleasant campground.
Owners and Staff: Very nice.
Overall Site Quality: very good
Good sites: The sites on (or by) the lake are really the choice spots! #s 213 (by the river) and #217, #218, #219**, and #221** were really awesome. We also liked the full hookup sites at the front of the campground. They were pull-through, but fairly large. Bad sites: #s 215 and 216 are very close together; they would be good for two friendly families, but not very private for strangers.
Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer; Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, semi-private, large and spacious, somewhat small, sandy bottom. Most sites were "dirt" bottom. Some were quite small, and some were semi-private. There was a mixture; The sites by the water were sunnier and brighter, but still wooded.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: Seasonal sites were mixed in, but still segregated in little clusters.
Comments on restrooms and showers: We didn't visit the restrooms.
Activities and Amenities
pool, lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, docks or moorings, recreation hall, playground, camp store, ice cream, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station; Good camp store (with ice cream), nice playground area. The Androscoggin Lake is gorgeous!!
Last comments: We would stay at this campground provided we could rent a lake side spot!
