Wells, Maine - 207-646-5612

Gary Miller gave us this review on 06/26/06. Approx Dates of Stay: 2 to 3 times per summer!. What did you camp in? Tent

Overall Campground Rating: excellent.

What stood out? The biggest attraction is that Wells Beach is less than 1 mile away and you do NOT have to drive Rte 1 to reach the Beach! There are a lot of seasonals, but there is also a wooded area that will make tenters and pop-ups feel right at home.

Owners and Staff: The staff is very friendly.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: The campground is right off Rte 1 in Wells, ME. It is a big campground with a lot of seasonals. There is a nice pool area and playing fields but REALLY you are less than a mile from the beach, do you really want to sit at the pool? Lots of antique shops, stores and restaurants inj the area. A VEY good ice cream shop right next to the campground on the corner of Rte 1.

Overall Site Quality: very good

Good/Bad sites: Ask for a site in the wooded area Sites X and Y if you are tenting. X9 & Y9 are quite large by Wells, ME standards. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, large and spacious, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, pine needle bottom, picnic table, fire ring,

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers,

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: It can be a walk to the restrooms!

Activities and Amenities

pool, ocean, playground, camp store, ice cream, laundry room, security gate.

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails.

Last comments: One of the prices that you pay to be close to the beaches of Maine is crowded campgrounds. At least Beach Acres makes it all bearable!
