Scarborough, Maine -

Dee gave us this review on 08/04/06. Dates of Stay: 7/22 - 7/26. Will You Return? No. What did you camp in? Travel Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: 29

Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.

What stood out? 3 pools but far too many people. They put in a new road in the V section and behind the v section that was so busy and crowed with traffic that it was no longer enjoyable. We really enjoyed this place years ago. Now that are just too money hungry. Cram campers one on top of the other.

Owners and Staff: Nice and helpful.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: Restrooms were not the cleanest. Camper on top of camper. The new section is now being cleared. Seems like they are not leaving any privacy between sites.

Overall Site Quality: not good

Good sites: V6 Bad sites: Most of the rest

Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer, cable, Campsite Descriptions: somewhat small, close to the road, picnic table, fire ring,

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: cluttered,

Clean restrooms and showers? no. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes.

  1. We haven’t visited Bayleys in a couple of years, but we did also have the same impression - too crowded - but I don’t know if the reason is that they are “money hungry” - it could be that they just want to expand. People seem to like it there, and if they are receiving more reservations than they can handle, maybe they figure it’s time to expand. Who knows!
