Amy gave us this review on 07/11/05. Approx Dates of Stay: July 8-10, 2005.

Overall Campground Rating: very good.

What stood out? So much to do, even in the rain!

Owners and Staff: Everyone was very friendly. See my last comments below for an incident that occurred during our stay.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: Clean

Overall Site Quality: fair-average

Good/Bad sites: We prefer the DR sites out back. They are very open and it's a quieter part of the campground. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, semi-private, close to the road, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. Bayley's has a variety of sites from very wooded to very open. When I called for our reservation, I told them my preference and the person making my reservation was very knowledeable about what the sites were like.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: Not sure who's seasonal here and who's not. Many of the campers we met here this weekend we here for a week or more. Everyone was very friendly.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? don't remember. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Very clean. Stray mosquito here and there.

Activities and Amenities

pool, pond, ocean, lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, recreation hall, video games, pool table, live entertainment, bingo, playground, kids planned activities, camp store, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. Once you're in Bayley's there's really nothing that you have to leave for unless you want to head for the beach or Funtown/Splashtown - or Aquaboggin. I find some things to be a little expensive, but overall it's not too bad.

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails.

Last comments: Around 10pm Saturday night, one of our neighbors backed his father's diesel pick-up into another neighbors small pick-up. The neighbor who had been hit was very calm and basically said they wouldn't worry about it until it was light the next day. The kid who caused the accident however started yelling, swearing, and punching his truck. He actually caused more damage to his father's truck than the damage he caused by hitting the other truck. Because of his rampage we called Security. No one showed up. 10 minutes later (now we could hear him swearing at his own mother, and my now awake 5-yr old wanted to know what was going on) we had to call Security again because the situation was escalating. They finally showed up and the kid was escorted off Bayley's property. I don't blame any of this on Bayley's, but it does concern me that it took so long for Security to arrive. The situation could have been much worse and there was no need for any of the children in the area to be exposed to his bad temper. Will we return to Bayley's? Yes. But my advice is that if you even think you need Security, call them immediately.
