Approx Dates of Stay: August 3-10 2002. What stood out? Excellent location for Acadia touring. Owners and Staff: Professional, courteous and friendly staff. Camp landscaping and surroundings: RV sites are partially wooded, most are open and sunny; tent sites are heavily wooded; playground, pool bathrooms are centralized near office area.

Overall Site Quality: good. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, somewhat small, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring. RV sites are close together and rather short for larger units. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Restrooms were cleaned daily and though not new all facilities were maintained. Laundry was only available from afternoon to evening with insufficient working units for the number of users.

Activities and Amenities: pool, swimming, recreation hall, playground, camp store, ice cream, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station. What is nearby? restaurants, ocean or lake, nature trails. As advertised this is the quiet side, nearest grocery, hardware, pharmacy is in Southwest Harbor. Last comments: Great base to visit MT. Desert attractions. Rte 102A is reasonably safe for walking and bike riding. Recommend sunset at the Bass Harbor Headlight and lobster at Thurston's.
