Larry gave us this review on 08/28/06. Dates of Stay: August 2006. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Pop-up Trailer

Overall Campground Rating: excellent.

What stood out? Very clean and friendly!

Owners and Staff: The staff was super responsive for any issues. Also very friendly. It made for a wodnerful stay.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: The campground is actually 2 campgrounds. We stayed on a spit of land that went into the bay as we wanted to be near the water and could see the water from our camper. The other campground we didn't visit but is part of this one and was recently bought and converted to the KOA.

Overall Site Quality: excellent

Good sites: They're all pretty good. Some are near or on the water, some are wooded, on grass or secluded. Something for everyone. Bad sites: None really.

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, semi-private, large and spacious, somewhat small, close to the road, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, pine needle bottom, picnic table, fire ring, We were on a mix of small gravel and grass on a corner. My wife loved the site and wants the same one next year when we return to finish our exploring.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, Very friendly seasonal campers.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Super clean, hot water all the time. Many restrooms around the campground so one is always accessible.

Activities and Amenities

ocean, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, recreation hall, video games, live entertainment, tv or movies, playground, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, There is a pool but it is at the other half at the new KOA extension 1½ miles down the street. The movies were enjoyed by all. One night there was a live band but they only lasted 4 or 5 songs as they wre horrible. They left quickly and a movie was substituted in place and made everyone much happier!

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, nature trails. Acadia National Park is the big draw nearby with lots of hiking, biking, driving, kayaking and exploring. We spent a full 2 days there and it's not enough. We're already making plans to return next summer.

Last comments: This was one of the best campgrounds we've been to in a long time. We had friends camping in tents with us and unfortunetly got soaked being on low ground at their site next to ours. The campground quickly found a better site and even refunded part of their money to compensate for having to move and the inconvenience. We thought everything there was wonderful! Our only negative was that we had to leave so soon after just 5 days!
