Approx Dates of Stay: Sept. 5-12, 2002. What stood out? Some nicely wooded sites. Some ocean views. Owners and Staff: Friendly. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Some nicely wooded sites. Several sites with good ocean views but were narrow and all sun. Most of the open RV sites were not at all level including the pull thru sites.
Overall Site Quality: good. Good/Bad site #'s: Some sites very unlevel for RV. Wooded sites with partial (W/E) or no hookups very nice. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, semi-private, picnic table, fire ring. Few seasonal sites for employees. No seasonal rate. RV sites were stone wooded sites (which could also be RV) were dirt. Wooded sites were flat. Nice for an RV. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Restrooms/showers very clean. $.25/5 min.
Activities and Amenities: pool, ocean, video games, laundry room, dumping station. Camp not with campground but within easy walk. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails, Log Cabin Restaurant, Pirates Cove Mini Golf, Lobster Pound/ice cream within walking distance. Acadia National Park 2 miles, Bar Harbor 4 miles. Last comments: We checkout other campgrounds and would choose this one again. NO RESERVATIONS and NO CREDIT CARDS accepted. Could be tough to find a spot during high season (July/August). No off season rates but rates are more reasonable than others in the area ($27 for 3-way).
