Approx Dates of Stay: 8/14-8/21. Overall Campground Rating: excellent. What stood out? VERY friendly new owners (this is their 2nd season). They previously owned a campground on the seacoast and have a lot of experience. It shows. Owners and Staff: Very friendly. Knowledgable about the area and have a great attitude. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Mostly wooded, some open sites. Almost all water/electric, some 3-2 way. Some pull-thrus.
Overall Site Quality: excellent. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer; Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, semi-private, large and spacious, pine needle bottom, picnic table, fire ring, Very well cared for. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, They only allow 6 seasonal sites out of a total of 50 sites.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Limited (1 each, male/female) shower facilities, but we never found it a problem. Lots of RV's that didn't use the showers. Plenty of hot water.
Activities and Amenities: pool, recreation hall, video games, pool table, tv or movies, playground, camp store, ice cream, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, Just plain nice. Maine camping as it should be. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, nature trails. Moosehead Lake is about 40 minutes away. Last comments: A gem!
