Pat L gave us this review on 07/17/05. Approx Dates of Stay: 7/1/05 thru 7/10/05.
What stood out? Quiet campground with decent size sites. Hook-ups fairly easy. Had wireless internet but only by restrooms for a fee of $25./week. Lots of motorhomes & trailers. Few pop-ups & tents.
Owners and Staff: Very friendly & helpful
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Pull thru sites with semi level areas, some trees between sites. Roads are gravel/stone with gradual incline up road.
Good/Bad sites: J4 & J5 were nice with plenty of room for 27' trailer and vehicles Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer, cable, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, picnic table, fire ring, Campground allowed pets. Pet owners who were there were very courteous and cleaned up after their animals. Although the pet walk area is where you ride/walk to Rail Trail and this was not as clean as it should be.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, Hard to tell seasonal sites, all were kept fairly neat and organized. Seasonal campers were friendly.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Back sites had a bit of a walk to restrooms. Quieter sites were in back. Laundry facilities located outdoors with restrooms. Ample washers ($2/load) but could use more dryers ($.25/5 minutes of drying time)
tv or movies, camp store, ice cream, pets allowed, laundry room, security gate. Cape Cod Rail Trail backed up to campground. Definite plus for those who are bicycle riders or great for walking. Great seafood/ice cream place short distance from campground. Store seemed to be well stocked.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. Eastham is a great location on the Cape. 25 miles to Provincetown and 25 miles to Hyannis. Nicer area to stay in not as crowded. Near to bay & ocean beaches. Short ride to National Seashore Visitor Center. Close to golf, lighthouses and plenty of restaurants.
Last comments: Our last day, one site had 3 vehicles, 1 pop-up, 1 tent, and 1 utility trailer. Seemed to be too many people on the site, although their first night was quiet. Don't like to see campgrounds let people have mutiples of vehicles/trailers on one site. Our past experience at this has proved to be noisy and not the scenery that you want to see camping. Overall, we were very pleased with the campground and would definitely return again in the future.
