That's Camping review on 06/18/05.Approx Dates of Stay: Drive-thru observation.

Overall Campground Rating: very good.

Owners and Staff: Very nice, busy staff

Camp landscaping and surroundings: Not a fancy campground, so if you are looking for a RV resort, this is not it. It is a natural campground and that is what is so nice about this place. And with strict quiet hours, it is a quiet peaceful campground.

Overall Site Quality: very good

Good/Bad sites: We really liked the two private, wooded E/W sites towards the front #31 and#32. The full-hookup sites are pull-thru, open, and large. Very nice primitive tenting area: Sites were large and private. Also open grassy safari field for group camping. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, large and spacious, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. Dirt-bottom sites, but clean.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly; There were a lot of seasonal sites, but they were kept orderly.

Clean restrooms and showers? fairly clean. Restrooms and showers need updating? a little bit, yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: There are 2 bathhouses, and I don't recall how long of a walk it would be from the tenting sites farther from the facilities. We checked out the bath-house at the back of the campground. There was a small laundry area outside. Men's room was fairly clean, but needs more dusting for cobwebs and also possibly some new paint on the floors. We didn't check the other bathhouse at the front.

Activities and Amenities

pond, swimming, recreation hall, laundry room We didn't check the pond, but there is swimming.

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, nature trails.

Last comments: This is a good campground. The owners take pride in their property, and seem to care a lot about maintaining a quiet peaceful atmosphere. If you need a place to stay close to White Mountain activities, then I don't think you will be disappointed, especially if you are looking for primitive camping.

Open in summer and also the winter (closed from April 1 to May 15) - X-C skiing and snow mobile trails located right from campground. They also have a trail groomer on site for the local snowmobile club.
