Larry gave us this review on 07/24/06. Dates of Stay: 7/15/06 to 7/22/06. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Pop-up Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: 14 feet approx

Overall Campground Rating: very good.

What stood out? on 2 beatutiful lakes: Alpine and Woodland which were great for kayaking, fishing, swimming and enjoying

Owners and Staff: The staff was very polite and helpful with any issues that we had. The campground was just bought and has a new owner. The week we were there, there was a new staff of mostly teenagers and they were learning their new jobs as well as some adults too.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: The landscaping and surroundings were beautiful.

Overall Site Quality: excellent

Good sites: Around the lake edge were great! But you have your pick of lake, woods, private, etc with nearly 500 sites to choose from. Bad sites: n/a

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer. wifi in the campground would be nice Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, semi-private, large and spacious, close to the road, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, pine needle bottom, picnic table, fire ring, Each site had a concrete slab that the picnic table and more was on. We stepped out of our camper onto the slab. Much better than stepping on dirt, especially after a heavy rainfall.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, very neat and friendly seasonal campers

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: The restrooms and showerhouses definetly need upgrading. Some days the meters worked, some they didn't. The shower temperature can not be adjusted. Most days theshowers were very hot; too hot for my comfort. Other days, they were comfortable. There were no signs on the meters that didn't work. So we lost a few quarters that were non-refundable. Other days, both my son and I could take a shower on a single quarter. There was no consistency. My wife said the ladies showers were the same. Also the entrance door would not stay closed, so anyone standing near the entrance could look down and see us naked and soapy men reaching across the hall to put more quarters into the meter. The exaust fans barely worked and a screen door to keep out the bugs is needed too. We were told that the shower house will be replaced and upgraded by the new owners. Hopefully soon because everything else at thecampground is excellent!

Activities and Amenities

pool, lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, docks or moorings, recreation hall, video games, live entertainment, bingo, tv or movies, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, Replace the showers with modern and free showers that are temperature adjustable and this would be an awesome campground!

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. Lake Luzerne and Lake George and withing a 30 minute drive. Saratoga is 15 minutes away for more activities, shopping, history and more.

Last comments: We will come back another year and explore the area some more. Hopefully the bath house will have been replaced. Everything else was great and we'll return.
