Michele Alfonso gave us this review on 07/14/03.

Approx Dates of Stay: 7-10-03 to 7-13-03. Overall Campground Rating: horrible. What stood out? The activities that were planned did not happen as scheduled if they even happened at all. One of the activities that we did was almost an hour late starting. We were promised an outhouse on our site because we had a big group of about 36 people come and the bathrooms were pretty far away. The outhouse was never put on the site. Owners and Staff: I don't think the owner was a very friendly person. When you would ask a question about something we felt like they didn't have the time to answer you. I felt like the woner and some of the staff were very rude. I found only one person on the staff to be very friendly. Camp landscaping and surroundings: The campground landscape and surroundings were very nice. The pond area was beautiful.

Overall Site Quality: excellent. Good/Bad site #'s: The site we had was excellent. We had a field area that accommodated a large group of 36 people. We had plenty of room. It was very private, and the children had a lot of room to play. Campsite hookups: primitive tent. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, large and spacious, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. Our group was very happy with the campsite.

Clean restrooms and showers? no. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? no. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: The bathrooms were dirty. The showers would not maintain a stable temperature, they went from very cold to scalding hot. There was one shower and two bathroom stalls in the main bathroom. And at the other 2 bathrooms there were two showers in each one. There was no where to hang or set down your clothing. The shower curtains were not wide enough for privacy and some of them were even ripped. The sinks in the main bathroom were broke. There were no paper towels to dry your hands. The bathrooms lighting was very poor.

Activities and Amenities: pool, pond, river, swimming, fishing, recreation hall, video games, pool table, playground, camp store, ice cream, snack bar. The pool was not opened at all times. The diving board was broke. The rules for swimming were very strict. You were not allowed to jump or dive into the deep end of the pool. We were told the there was no splashing allowed in the pool. We were told we were not allowed to use the tennis courts because the were under construction. What is nearby? grocery stores. The grocery store and department store are within 15 minutes of the campground. Last comments: Overall our group was very unhappy and disappointed with the campgrounds. We will never go back again.
