What stood out? That money has been put back into campground every year doing up-dates. Last year the north side was giving a much needed new pool and hottub along with the waterslide re-rooted.Also John and Mary are bringing it back to a True family campground.
Owners and Staff: New ownership in 2005/John and Mary, friendly. Activity staff go above and beyondto have children participate in activities, making each child feel special.Bathroom Staff friendly,Pool Staff friendly.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: I have camped at this campground for 20 years,I can honestly say that many much needed improvements have been made with many more to come.( We as campers need to remember it cannot be all done over night, it takes time and money.) The new owners have made up dates every year since they bought campgrond. Dead trees have been cut down. beautiful landscaping done around new pool along with new pool lighting on the north side along with many flowering plants added near some camp sites. Many sites have been expanded on the north side.buildings both sides have been painted, along with new signs.New chain link fence has been installed along the east side road.
Good sites: I cannot find one bad site. Bad sites:
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable, Since new ownership all sewage are capped off when not in use.. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, semi-private, grassy bottom, pine needle bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. You can be issued a car pass to look at sites. Before you book your vacation I would suggest you drive through campground take a look at sites , write down any site you would be interested in this will help a great deal when you book your vacation site ,(When booking site do tell what you will be camping in, if a trailer give length.)
Cell Phone Service: My cell phone service is Verizon and I receive great service in all areas of campground.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, I am a seasonal, seasonal sites are well kept. (You will not find tarp city at this campground,Seasonals must up grade camper when it is twenty years old)
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Showers are cleaned many times throught the day and cleaned well.(Ok,When it rains it is impossible to keep the floors cleaned)Owners have up dated some bathrooms(new sinks, toliets, counter top, dryers and guess what we have soap now)
pool, pond, river, swimming, fishing, recreation hall, video games, pool table, live entertainment, bingo, tv or movies, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. Pools are well mantained...Pool staff friendly, Store is well stocked from milk to safety pins. Two small playground on east side, North side has one larger playground.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, Hospital,Market Basket,Brooks, Staples, Kmart,Movie Theater,Mall,Indoor Flea Market...having all these near by will also help your camping experience.
Last comments: John and Mary keep up the good work...If anyone complains send them to me, I can tell them how run down this campground became before you took it over, for I am a witness to the wonderful changes you have made.
