In this Sunday's Boston Globe Magazine there was a Best of Summer theme. Besides the best beaches, there was a great article on Snack Shacks in New England-Fried Clams and Seafood especially. (Unfortunately the article on the 30 best beaches is not available online for free.)
You have to have a (free) membership to Boston.com to read the articles online. The registration form is a bit nosy, so just fill in what you are comfortable with. There are choices like "other" and "not comfortable sharing that" so choose those if needed.
