Well we still love our 2004 Sunline Travel Trailer #2553 so we hope to take a trip out to Pennsylvania in June to the Sunline plant for a tour.  At the same time, a trip to Hershey and the PA Dutch country is also in order! What great areas!

UPDATE: Made our reservations for Lake-in-Wood Campground in Narvon, Pennsylvania. Just a few minutes from the Sunline RV Plant in Denver. Looking forward to our trip!

If you would like to read more info on our Sunline Travel Trailer, please read our article from last year. We also have tips on purchasing a travel trailer.

  1. I can’t comment on Sunline’s but Hershey is WONDERFUL! We always stop there on the way down to visit with family in Virgina.

I do not recommend the Hershey High Meadow Campground though. First of all they had absolutely filthy facilities and grounds. The sites were TINY and then there is the train. It borders the campground. The train runs at all hours even during the evening and early morning. Forget about getting a good night sleep.

    Hershey Park is recommended.

  2. I have heard mixed reviews about the Hershey High Meadow Park. We stayed there many many years ago, when we camped in the back of our truck, and we heard the train ALL night long! It was a long night, and I know I was quite cranky in the A.M. *smile*

As for the Hershey area, don’t forget the Hershey factory tour!! And a trip down that main Hershey street with the cute Hershey Kiss light posts! I think Penn Dutch/Hershey area is one of our favorite places!

  3. We stayed at the High Meadow Campground in Hershey and didn’t have a problem. Of course that was 4-5 years ago. If one plans to stay 2-3 days in the Hershey area where else can you camp? It used to be the only campground and ran a free shuttle to Hershey Park.  Lyle

  4. The Lake-In-Wood campground (where we chose to stay) is about 1 hour away from Hershey, but there are other closer campgrounds. There are area maps on the Penn. Campground Owners web site - http://pacamping.com/southeast.htm and http://pacamping.com/southcentral.htm.

....But on the other hand if you had a good experience at High Meadow, then give it another shot. Like I said, I have heard both good and bad reports on it, so the only opinion that really matters is your own, right?

Also take a look at http://www.irv2.com/ - they have a terrific forum over there. Do a search on Hershey and see what comes up!
