One More Trip to Boston Show

Well, we decided on this Saturday afternoon to trot on down to the Boston RV Camping show again! This time, I made some mental notes of things I wanted to mention here on the blog.

First off, why do RV makers create bathrooms in the same room as the bedroom. A large majority of the big buses and 5th wheels had a sink put in right by the bedroom with absolutely no wallspace in between. One even had the shower stall about a foot from the bed. I don’t understand it. Why would someone want to live in such an open area like that. no walls, no privacy. Very strange. All they need to do is add a little bit of a wall to make it appear a bit more separated.

The attendance today seemed scarce. We were talking to a friend at one of the campground booths (Hi Mike!) and he told us that last weekend was much busier than this weekend. This weekend did seem a lot slower.

The show is not really as good as it has been in the past, and the admission/parking prices are outrageous! There are definitely not as many campground displays as in previous years, and I have a feeling attendence is down this year. It just isn’t the show it used to be!

Word of warning....the food is horrendous. Last Saturday it was passable, but I think the food has been hanging around all week. Today I purchased a piece of carrot cake for $4.50 and returned it after one bite. The cake was rockhard and very dry. I think it was sitting in the frig case all week and dried out. The pretzel I purchased from another vendor was equally dry and old, but passable when hunger sets in.

We did hear that the Springfield show is the next great place to be for the northeast shows! I took a look at the list of venders and it is very exciting! I think we might make the trek out there, but I am dreading the ride!

Oh, and today (and last Saturday) Mike wore the That’s Camping sweatshirt I gave him for Christmas! very sweet!

It was a very tiring but fun day! Good for a winter Saturday when you miss camping so much!
