First and foremost, before traveling to Penn Dutch Country, get a copy of the "Lancaster County Official Map and Vacation Guide" - you can request a copy from the PADutchCountry web site. We have used this brochure and map on every one of our trips there, and it is indispensable if you intend to drive around the area on your own. The brochure includes a pull out map that is very detailed. It highlights so many of the back roads, highways, attractions, restaurants, shops, etc in the area, so I highly recommend getting a copy. There is also detailed information on what is in the area, including Hershey. If you do not have time to order a copy from the site, be sure to stop by one of the PA visitor centers. Our campground, Lake-In-Wood gave us a copy upon check-in.
