Well, we arrived at Danforth last night and took a spin around to check out who was here. I would estimate there were under 10 campers here. Very quiet.

We slept late, had a leisurely breakfast, watched Price Is Right, took showers, and now we will be taking a hike up Mt Mary.

It is a glorious morning, well, actually afternoon at this point!

UPDATE: Yep, I survived Mt. Mary. I am not extremely athletic so it took me some time, but I did finish the hike. Felt great afterwards! Wonderful views of the campground, lakes, mountains. Just gorgeous. I love it here!

  1. Wow! Only 10 campers. Do you have your area to yourselves? I guess it really is a ghost town during the fall.

Mount Mary is a great little mountain. Ready to climb Mt. Chocura now? :-> The last group to climb it (we went with the activities staff led by Ken) really flew up the Mountain. I had a hard time keeping up with them.

Be glad that you are up there because the weather here is cloudy and drizzly. According to Accuweather you have sunshine. Mixed forecast for this weekend. I hope they have the Pine Derby in the Pavillion.

  2. hehee, well today (Thursday) others are finally starting to arrive. We have two more campsites filled on Chocura Circle (Prov Place) - last night, the place was pitch black except for the nightlight at the bathhouse. Amazing.

It will perk up for the weekend though. Got a big Monaco rally coming here, so there will be some activity.

We did drive our bikes around yesterday before dinner, and I just love the feeling of having the place to ourselves. It is great to check out each campsite in detail, especially the more popular sites.

I asked about the Pine Derby, and I think they are having it at the Pavillion. So far, the weather looks to be not too bad. Lovely day today. Can you believe we are still hanging around here and it is already 2:30??? hehee. I think we will take a bike ride around then head out to Lake Winni.

    aaah, I love the fall!
