  1. I remember (Fransted), Fran & Ted when they still had children running around their view of their Cannon Mountain home. Ted a strapping tough Fire Marshal for Franconia Village with an NH accent so thick you could cut with a knife, don’tcha know? Fran a savvy business woman with a heart of gold.  Ah what a spot, what people!

Always loved most camping across the bridge but stayed in every section of the CG. Even built a few sites in the 70’s with my then Van Club. Memorial Day to Columbus Day, that was our time there.

My kids are grown now and remember it well.  Three years ago we left behind our significant others and returned after an absence of 12 years.  Just the 3 of us and a tent and embraced our family and it’s cherished past good times in the White Mountains.  We found the place where many years before our initials had been carved.

I live in Florida now but will never forget “The Notch, Flume, Basin, Sugar Hill, Polly’s Pancake House.  The smells remain in my nostrils, the sights emblazoned in my mind’s eye… Enjoy
