Moreau Lake State Park

comment by Nancy on 06/11/2010

We love Moreau Lake campground.  The beach is very nice and clean. The fishing is good and we love to row around the lake with our conoe (no motor boats are allowed which makes it even nicer). There are many hiking trails which are very well kept. Our favorite trail is to Mud Pond. In the fall you can see geese at the pond and you ...Read More

Canal Bridge Campground

comment by Jason on 06/09/2010

I"ve been to this place 2x in the last 2 years and I must say that although the place looks a little (little) better, the new management has a very abrasive and downright mean personality.  I enjoy camping and part of camping is the overall friendliness of the campground, and this certainly doesn’t do it for me. I’d rather give my ...Read More

Burnette's Trailer and Tent Area

comment by Audrena on 06/09/2010

We had an opposite experience during out stay. My family loved it! You can’t get any better location wise…you can walk to almost anything! The girls in the office were very helpful. We have only been camping a few times and the son who helps run the campground was helping us in any way. He helped us back our pop up onto the site. ...Read More

Witch Meadow Lake Campground

comment by That's Camping on 06/09/2010

I am not sure why you are upset with them, exactly. Would you be happier if your site flooded and someone was hurt? I assume since you reserved that site the same day, they were fully booked and that was the last site?? What did you expect them to do exactly if the site wasn’t ...Read More

Brookdale Campground

comment by Tom D. on 06/08/2010

Stayed at Brookdale Memorial Day 2010.  Plenty of tents and pop-ups (including mine).  I reallize bad experience do happen in life, but I have to say I’ve never had one at Brookdale.  The facilities were clean and in working order, the staff helpful and friendly. I would and do recommend Brookdale to anyone that is planning to ...Read More

Sea-Vu West

comment by Ellen on 06/08/2010

Stayed there last Memorial Day Weekend.  The pool/hot tub were very nice.  The sites are large and easy to get into with a big rig.  The people working in the office/store were very nice and friendly.  Every time we went into the office or called we treated kindly and with ...Read More

Lake Durant

comment by Philip on 06/07/2010

My family and I had a spectacular time during our stay at lake Durant. I had the pleasure of taking a solo afternoon trip up a stream that runs into the lake. Walking upstream hopping rocks and bushwacking my way through the forest due to the lack of a trail(no complain on my part) I managed to land 7 small but beautiful wild ...Read More

Witch Meadow Lake Campground

comment by robin on 06/06/2010

After an hour drive with 3 small children, the owner refused the site we had reserved earlier in the day due to possible impending storms. She was extremely unprofessional and rude…I am a govt employee and my friend is military and this woman felt the need to turn away good business. We were trying to have a good day for the kids, ...Read More

Pequot Ledge Campground

comment by tent campers on 06/04/2010

This campground is mostly seasonal sites and cabins, we knew that before we made our reservation. We camped on Memorial Day weekend and they did have some scheduled activities. Tent camping is very hard in this campground because the ground is very hard and full of rocks. The plus is that every site has water, electricity, and ...Read More

Cranberry Run Campground

comment by Arthur Coleman and Family on 06/01/2010

I must admit that this campground had been let go for a couple of years and is now under new ownership. This great because the new owners have updated things and have done a lot of repairs and are planning even more including to introduce cabins and or trailors for those who want more than just ground camping. The object of the ...Read More

Orr's Island Campground

comment by hawk on 06/01/2010

As evidenced by an article in The Boston Globe - The Wrights (the main features of the front page article in The Globe) were in love with Orrs Island Campground before their nervous final exit.  Before 2005, The Wrights had never seen Orrs Island Campground.  Weekly campers at that time WERE denied AC use - per printed rules.  ...Read More

Mt. Desert Narrows

comment by NewEnglandCamper (Bob) on 06/01/2010

This review represents what I recall when we did a drive through several years ago. We stayed at its sister campground “Narrows Too” just up the street on a Ocean site and thought it was much ...Read More

comment by bosha2nh on 05/31/2010

I have a Jeep Cherokee now (family car). I am on my second jeep, hoping to upgrade to a Wrangler or Sierra myself soon (kids are older now), I can’t wait to go “topless”!!! Have ...Read More

Rondout Valley Campground

comment by That's Camping on 05/31/2010

Your comment makes absolutely no sense. How can they not give you a refund for something they didn’t provide? If they didn’t provide an rv site, and you truly paid for one, then they are obligated. Why didn’t you call the credit card company? This just doesn’t make any sense, ...Read More

Rondout Valley Campground

comment by Art and Bea on 05/31/2010

We went on a holiday weekend and prepaid for a full hookup site.  We were given a tent site because we were not members and since we pre-paid they would not refund the difference.  They said if we had only paid the deposit we would get a free night but since we pre-paid nothing! Then they offered free honey wagon service and never ...Read More

It's a Jeep Thing!

comment by That's Camping on 05/30/2010

Nautique, I was thinking about you today; it must be amazing to be able to take the jeep with you on camping trips. I wish we could tow the RV with ours. I would love to drive down the Kancamagus Hwy in the summer! We are going to have to try to take a day trip ...Read More

Hey guys! Thanks for commenting! And thanks for the link! My DH, Mike informs me that ours is a YJ. I will have to post photos. Eric, yes! Go for it. There are tons of them on Craig’s List. We were lucky to find a ...Read More

Maple Haven Resort

comment by steve on 05/29/2010

I have camped at Maple haven for years and have come to regard the owners like family. They are the nicest most caring people and I cannot believe your comments. I know some employees are no longer with them recently and that could have been who you dealt with. It is a charming family orientated campground with a child friendly ...Read More
