Blueberry Shores

comment by NEC on 03/13/2010

We drove by area as we were in the general area looking for different campgrounds. Blueberry Shores now appears to be new condos right on Newfound lake. I can image what a nice campground this could have been. There is a Bristol Shores close by on the lake (but not where the GPS - says Blueberry shores is). Its a sterile gated ...Read More

Casey's Spencer Bay Campground

comment by Ron on 03/01/2010

Casey and Sarah are wonderful people. The rules about quiet after 10 are clear. We appreciate it. Our campsite is quite near the point described and we would most definitely hear the whispers of 4 stagazers after 10 pm. Because Casey enforces the cleary stated rules, we will be going back for our 14th year with confidence we ...Read More

Lake Durant

comment by That's Camping on 01/30/2010

Hey Joel, we’ve never personally stayed at this camgpround, and I don’t know that the original author will be back to read your question. You might get more response if you post a question to our discussion forum, or maybe phoning the campground. Campground staff for the most part, are pretty helpful when it comes to answering ...Read More

Lake Durant

comment by Joel Fishman on 01/29/2010

I’m planning on staying at Lake Durant for memorial day weekend. I have a 16 ft crestliner boat that I like to keep at my campsite. Just wondering which sites would be the best. I sleep in a tent, and would like to have deep enough water to pull up my boat to the campsite. Space for my truck to park is important, and a view is ...Read More

Riverdale Farms

comment by Tim Noreika on 01/24/2010

I love this place.  Friendly family feeling.  I was impressed by the feeling we are family, and we were part of the camp ground.  Spacious sites with real camping felling!!  I will always be ...Read More

Able Mountain

comment by Caprice Bachelder on 01/20/2010

We camped at Able Mtn a couple of years ago and found it to be very nice.  I was a little scared to go past the trailer park at entrance but it turned into a beautiful area.  We climbed the mtn, just bring the bug spray.  Seasonals were friendly but not overbearing.  Free use of shuffleboard equipment/outdoor equipment and saw a ...Read More

Nick's Lake

comment by Laura H on 01/20/2010

Dear park rangers of Nicks Lake,   My name is Laura. I have been camping at Nicks Lake for several years since I was born, and I have been happy each summer I come back to visit. I am a freshman in high school and enjoy the outdoors. Your campground is a place that feels like home to me. The scenery never leaves my heart. It’s ...Read More

Wilgus State Park

comment by Jim Brennan on 01/11/2010

I went to Wilgus in 1987,and I’m so glad to hear it hasn’t changed a bit. I’d recommend it to anyone! It was the most peaceful camp I’ve had in many years of outdoor living.I hope to someday return,as there’s nothing quite like it here(British ...Read More

Powder Horn Family Campground

comment by Susan on 01/03/2010

The last time I stayed at this campground I found the place expensive, overcrowded, small sites, you pay fees for everything, pets, kids, bikes even the mini golf they have on site.  It’s buggy we think because of the wet swamp in the back.  The sites are on top of one another.  It’s mostly a seasonal place with inadequate pool ...Read More

Searsport Shores Campground

comment by ontario on 01/03/2010

Thanks.  We camped for 30 days with our children, visiting many different campgrounds, and had an amazing, incredible time.  Anyone who knows us, and our situation, knows that we certainly weren’t looking for, nor expecting,  a babysitting service as the owner implies.  This was a trip to really cherish our time spent ...Read More

comment by Rons on 01/02/2010

Still sorry to hear you feel as you did about your stay Jan. We are also seasoned campers of many many years and also hail from Ontario, where we too are used to spacious sites (at Provincial Parks perhaps)but have camped in many a “parking lot” in Ontario also. I guess the bottom line is that your perception from your research ...Read More

Searsport Shores Campground

comment by jan on 01/02/2010

Clearly there are two sides to every story.  The response of the campground owners shows the same patronizing attitude that turned us off, and was pretty insulting.  My children are good polite kids who are certainly not self-entitled.  They are quiet, polite children, and we have never, ever had a problem at any campground we ...Read More

Adventure World RV

comment by Chris on 12/29/2009

Found this old post and wanted to put an update.  They went out of business and filed Chapter 7 back in ‘04.  The owner ensured funding of money that he was fiduciary of and topped it off (401k plans, etc).  Charges have since been dropped.  Semms like just another business that went bankrupt. Assets were liquidated to pay off ...Read More

River View

comment by That's Camping on 12/23/2009

I feel horrible for you. I am so sorry that you were so sick. It goes to show you that you have to be so careful where ever you go. But it looks like the campground did the responsible thing when they closed the bathhouse after they found the problem. It’s too bad that it wasn’t before you used it. I am hoping they thoroughly ...Read More
