Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.

What stood out? Definitely NOT a campground for kids. They are not allowed to ride 2-wheelers & there is not a playground or a pool.

Owners and Staff: They watch you like a hawk.

Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, somewhat small, close to the road, picnic table, The picnic tables definitely need to be replaced. The one we had last...

That's Camping Review: Updated 03/15/04:

We decided to give this campground one last shot towards the end of the season 2003, and were disappointed. The sites are very small and very close to eachother. Most sites are seasonal, which are nicely maintained, but cluttered. This is typical for some area's ocean camping, and it wasn't so bad in the off season while we were there, but I imagine it could get...

Erin gave us this review on 07/25/06. Dates of Stay: 07/06. Will You Return? No. What did you camp in? Pop-up Trailer

Overall Campground Rating: horrible.

What stood out? The staff was VERY unpleasant, and they had poor attitudes. They harrassed us the WHOLE weekend. The sites were too small to breath. We had to move our site half way into the second day because we were flooded out. We had reserved a spot with a fire pit, and she put us in a spot without one.

Owners and Staff: The campground owners were extremely RUDE. She told me she didnt like my attitude, and it was her...

That's Camping Review: 1999 & 2000 Across the street from Long Sands beach. The owner is a bit "standoffish", but it's a very nice campground in an attractive setting. A lot of seasonal sites, and they are well maintained. Clean, accessible restrooms (there was a line for...

  • York / Ogunquit area: On Rt. 1 in Cape Neddick (207) 363-3626.
  • 100 sites: $24 Tenting site, $28 Electric/Water. Prices include 2 people, additional people are $3-$7.50

That's Camping Review: (6/01) New owners at Dixon's in 2001. A very nice campground, but the only real downfall we found is that there is no pool. The owners told us they plan on adding a pool and hopefully more electric sites. Possibly also adding sewer to sites as well.

On the whole, sites are large and spacious, some are secluded or on the side of a rock or hill. Some notable...

Cape Neddick (York) Maine - (207) 363-3626

Bruce gave us this review on 04/23/04.

Approx Dates of Stay: inspection visit. Overall Campground Rating: fair-average. What stood out? This was an inspection/visit only. Still a little cold (22nd of April) for camping. There is now a pool. Sites seemed pretty small, generally. This area is 37 years old and obviously geared to tenters. Sites were, for the most part, fairly close together. Bathroom/shower buildings were adequate, but again, small. More like out-houses upgraded to flush toilets. Campfires are now allowed...

Route 1 Cape Neddick, Maine - (207) 363-3626

That's Camping review on 07/08/04.

Approx Dates of Stay: Fourth of July weekend 2004. Overall Campground Rating: very good. What stood out? Very nicely landscaped. Quiet and peaceful. Not on the ocean, but close to York Beach and Ogunquit. This is not the place to go if you want a bustling busy camp-out. Owners and Staff: Very nice and cheery. Friendly. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Nicely maintained grassy area in the front. Flowers, large rocks, trees. A clean, peaceful and natural atmosphere.

Overall Site...

Amy G gave us this review on 09/04/07. Dates of Stay: 9/1/07-9/3/07. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Tent

Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.

What stood out? The campground itself is beautiful, unfortunately the seasonal RV campers ruined our trip. They played loud music two and a half hours after well posted quiet time. After we complained to management, the RV'ers purposely made jokes within our earshot about how they "make their own rules" and will do whatever they want. Management was very good about the complaint and patroled our area...

Good sites: An awesome campground for tenters. For groups - 12 to 15 They are now W & E. #19 to 27, 31 - 34, 36, 37. Possibly #42Ato 42# if in a group but you might hear more traffic. Bad sites: Not too much privacy...
