The New England foliage is absolutely stunning this year. If you haven’t taken the time to drive north, do it soon, before it is past peak!
The colors are vibrant! I can’t remember such deep reds, yellows and oranges! It is a must see!

On Thursday (June 16), we took a long drive along Rt 112, the Kancamagus Highway. There was major road construction from the Bear Notch Road area to the Rocky Gorge. In fact, the Rocky Gorge was closed while they were working on the parking lot.

We took our new (Old Town Twin Otter) kayak for a couple of trips last week.
On Friday, we took one last blast to Huckins Pond (New Hampshire) and brought along our Rat Terrier, Mindy. We originally thought it was going to be a short trip, with her wiggling and fussing, but she really seemed to enjoy the ride!
I think she looked adorable in her life preserver!

A few weeks ago, while viewing the beautiful Silver Cascade waterfall in Crawford Notch (Rt 302), we were recommended the book New England Waterfalls: A Guide to More Than 200 Cascades and Waterfalls. A bargain at only $12.57 (Amazon.)

When talking about NH waterways, of course Lake Winnipesaukee comes to mind first! The BIG Lake!!! A great lake to do some boating, but very unnerving at times. Some of the rudest and careless boaters cruise this lake. The weekends are the worst time. Weekdays are not as treacherous. It is a wavy lake, especially in the "Broads" area.
