Loudon Races traffic
« on: June 24, 2010, 10:23:41 AM »
Does any one have experience navigating the race traffic on 93?

We are heading north on 93 Sunday morning towards Lincoln, with the camper.  I see the race schedule shows the main event is Sunday at 1 pm.  I know from driving to my parents cottage in Tilton NH that they funnel all of the race traffic into one lane and leave one lane for through traffic.  I somehow over the years have always managed to go at non busy times.  I really am not aware of a good detour around the area.

Any suggestions?  As it is we are anticipating a 2.5 hour drive with a 1 year old and almost 4.  So far all of our long rides have been torturous.  So far we have not been good at leaving early, but I am hoping that using Sat to pack will help.  If we leave early am are we good?  Or is it just not that big of a deal?  I am somewhat tempted to leave Sat PM and camp on my Parents front lawn for the evening.  Can you tell I hate traffic?!!!

Thanks!
Melissa

My experience when the race use to be in July was mid to late morning was good to travel as I use to drop my son off in the area at noon/1 ish.  My guess is most get there early and tailgate all morning until race time.

Good luck, hope you miss the traffic.
