I got a postcard from TrailManor about a new popup that is light enough to be pulled by a minivan or a car. It was intriguing, because even though I'm a diehard tent camper, a few years of yurt camping has softened me up a bit.
I'm skeptical, though, after hearing dire warnings for years about vehicles being ruined if they pull too much weight. Is there really such a thing as a light popup that can be pulled by a minivan without killing it? If there is, is it worth having? The TrailManor model looked good on the website (of course, what doesn't?), except it didn't have enough beds for my crew, and the beds they had were small. At 6', I'd rather not be in a double bed. And what about all the other stuff you have to bring along? Do manufacturers consider that weight when they tell you that your vehicle can tow a camper?
I really don't want to get a bigger vehicle. Plus this is all hypothetical anyway, since my DH just went back to work after getting laid off in March. But I like to think about this stuff!
